Meet Amma Nectaria a sweet girl that lives with paralysis and severe spinal deformities.
The advanced degree of scoliosis no longer allows her to sit upright, which is extremely frustrating and limiting. She feels intense pressure from her ribs against her left lung, leading to serious breathing difficulties.
This spring, Amma is scheduled to undergo corrective scoliosis surgery at a private clinic, performed by an international multidisciplinary medical team. The surgery will be followed by a long and demanding recovery period. After surgery, Amma will once again require intensive postoperative rehabilitation, including physical therapy and reflex integration therapy. While these treatments are costly, they are essential for improving mobility, reducing pain, and significantly enhancing her quality of life.
